New significant release of ProjectLibre

We are pleased to announce the release of ProjectLibre 1.5.5.  This has significant improvements, most that are not visible.  We previously announced the ongoing effort to complety rewrite the ProjectLibre codebase. This process is  well under way and will be released with a target of late Summer.  Laurent and the team are amazing!  It is common knowledge that we exclusively wrote the OpenProj code a decade ago.  The code is complex and virtually impossible to attract code contribution due to the complexity.

ProjectLibre update: major progress behind the scenes and community

I wanted to send an update to the community on ProjectLibre's progress.  It is important to communicate this as there is major progress but it is all "under the hood".  ProjectLibre is now being used in literally every country in the world.  It is exciting to see the ProjectLibre usage flourish.  We  also enjoy the user stories and appreciated comments about delivering a free, open source alternative to Microsoft Project.  Please send your user stories!   We understand there is a lot of work ahead but we are moving forward rapidly.....

ProjectLibre downloads exceed 50,000 in 191 countries

ProjectLibre exceeded 50,000 downloads this morning.... users are pinging back from 191 countries. It looks like Greenland, Mauritania, Western Sahara, and the Free republic of Congo are the only holdouts around the world... We are thrilled with the global endorsement of @ProjectLibre as we replace @MsftProject

Translations progressing rapidly and Japanese release of ProjectLibre UI

There has been a lot of progress on the documentation with ProjectLibre.  The community contributions are truly appreciated.  We do need more content added to the dccumentation.  You can access the English version here and add content.  We also just released a Japanese version of ProjectLibre.  The user interface was translated by community member Takahiro Morita.  Thank you Takahiro-san! We have lagged usage in Japan and this will certainly help the user community.

80,000 downloads and the community is growing rapidly

The open source movement is growing rapidly.  ProjectLIbre is a shining light for the impact open source can have around the world competing against proprietary software.  ProjectLibre now has more than 80,000 downloads in essentially every country in the World covered in this usage.  Our reach is powerful with the open source model.  We are getting many language translations and downloads are extremely distributed, only 20% of the downloads are in the United States.

ProjectLibre documentation wiki...... Community contributions requested

We have started a ProjectLibre documentation wiki  and linked it on the site menu structure under Community http://www-projectlibre.rhcloud.com/wiki/projectlibre-manual-community-contributed-wiki-manual-0  A number of community members have volunteered to commence writing.  Please don't restrict to the current Table of Contents.  That was put in by the team as an initial swag as a framework.
