OpenProj

New significant release of ProjectLibre

We are pleased to announce the release of ProjectLibre 1.5.5.  This has significant improvements, most that are not visible.  We previously announced the ongoing effort to complety rewrite the ProjectLibre codebase. This process is  well under way and will be released with a target of late Summer.  Laurent and the team are amazing!  It is common knowledge that we exclusively wrote the OpenProj code a decade ago.  The code is complex and virtually impossible to attract code contribution due to the complexity.

ProjectLibre update: major progress behind the scenes and community

I wanted to send an update to the community on ProjectLibre's progress.  It is important to communicate this as there is major progress but it is all "under the hood".  ProjectLibre is now being used in literally every country in the world.  It is exciting to see the ProjectLibre usage flourish.  We  also enjoy the user stories and appreciated comments about delivering a free, open source alternative to Microsoft Project.  Please send your user stories!   We understand there is a lot of work ahead but we are moving forward rapidly.....

Interview with Sourceforge on ProjectLibre's release

I had a very nice interview with Sourceforge today.  They were looking to feature ProjectLibre on their website.  You can either read the article or listen to the Podcast.  It gives some insight into our project and desire for community support. http://sourceforge.net/blog/podcast-projectlibre/

Marketing Tips for ProjectLibre

Hello all,

I would like to contribute two tips which might increase the spread of ProjectLibre:

ProjectLibre source code released

The ProjectLibre team is pleased to announce the source code for ProjectLibre has been posted for the public.  We have posted it at the Sourceforge project site.  This is a significant event and reinforces the open source movement's advantages over proprietary software.  I recently left Acquia where I was the VP and General Manager for part of the business. This week they were named the #8 fastest growing private company by Inc. Magazine.

ProjectLibre desktop update to OpenProj releasing in August

The ProjectLibre team close to releasing the first update to OpenProj in many years..... a big YEAH!  We are very pleased with the development and will be releasing with a number of significant improvements:

ProjectLibre happy to announce OpenProj approaching 4 million downloads

We are also pleased to announce that OpenProj will be hitting the 4 million download milestone tomorrow.  It has been a wonderful run since we first released OpenProj and celebrated hitting the 10,000 download milestone.  We now get this every few days.
