7 Day Work Week

How do you change the calendar to a 7 day work week versus 5?  I have tried a number of things..changing the number of hours in a work week to 56, tell it there are more days per month...I don't see a way to just say there are 7 work days per week.  I went to File, Calendar...as I want this to apply to the whole project.  Should I change it somewhere else?  Not sure where I should be looking.  And, the changes I did make, didn't seem to make any difference anyway...the start/end dates didn't change in the Gantt chart when I change the number of days in the month or the number of working hours and then change the duration.  Help?

Thanks

Leslie

I believe you need to change the "Days Per Month" value from 20 to 28. The default 20 value would be equal to 5 days per week x 4 weeks in a month (5 x 4 = 20).

Change it to 28 would mean 7 days per week x 4 weeks in a month ( 7 x 4 = 28).

Hope this helps!

Ok, I tested this and was able to get it to work. It was a little wierd though. This is what I did

In my projects, most of my tasks use a standard 8 h/d 5 d/w calendar but I also have tasks (such as 28 days Concrete curing) that run on a 24 h/d 7 d/w calendar.

Since my project runs with the standard calendar and options (8 h/d), I thus created a 24/7 calendar for the concrete curing for which I set the duration to 28 days. The result is that I get the proper number of hours (672 h) but the Gantt chart is not showing the proper lengths for the 24/7 tasks. To get around this problem, I set the options in calendar to 24 h/d; then back to Task Information where I set the task duration to 28 days which gives me 672 hours (but all other tasks duration are at 1/3 of their original); then back to the options in the 24/7 calendar and reset the Hours per day at 8 h. The result is that I get the proper length in the Gantt and the proper amount of hours but the wrong number of days (in my case 84 days instead of 28)

In order to solve this issue, the Duration settings in Options should be specific to each calendar instead of to all tasks in the project.

Hello Marc,
Is it already possible to enter the duration of a task in accordance to its task calendar?
That is necessary if you want to keep a standard calendar for standard activities but neet to define tasks that have a special calendar (i.e. 24 hours per day, 7 days a week).
Thanks in advance.
