How to edit a gantt chart

Hi,

first time user. trialling before i commit to purchase MS project as hoping i can avoid the purchase.

i have created a project and gantt chart. Truoble is, the gant chart is displayed in weeks and i would much prefer monthly overview so i can see more on the 1 page. Is there a way to do this as the editign options seem non existent.
