ProjectLibre beta releasing on Thursday
The ProjectLibre team is very happy to announce the beta version will be available for download on Thursday. We need your help in promoting the availability! There are many updates that have occurred over the past serveral months. Our initial goal with ProjectLibre was to concentrate on a replacement of Microsoft Project Server. However, the years of inactivity with OpenProj caused our retrenching and ultimately decided to have a new solution called ProjectLibre. It was important to get the desktop project management replacement of Microsoft Project working first..... Our initial hopes for a quick turnaround were quickly dashed. It has taken a dedicated 7 months to create ProjectLibre. In most areas ProjectLibre is a complete rewrite, in the future it may be completely rewritten.
We will send out a note on Thursday afternoon alerting everyone to the release. Your feedback is appreciated! We also are pleased so many people are signing up for the Global User Group. This is the central correspondence but you can also join regional communities. We will be announcing specific information for your regional groups as well. The ProjectLibre beta is a major improvement including:
- Compatibility with Microsoft Project 2010
- New Ribbon User Interface
- Printing feature
- Major bug fixes and more
This is a screen shot of the new ProjectLIbre Gantt Chart. It is important to note the ribbon user interface is related to what you are working on.... a major improvement for usability over the current release.
Here is one more screen shot showing the ProjectLibre Network Diagram (I still like PERT Chart) Once again, the ribbon user interface is changeable based on your work.
Once again, it has been a long haul. We are excited with the home stretch. We have received a nice outpouring of support from the community. We have translation updates for Spanish, French, Russian. We have also had creative support for our logo and other areas. The assistance is really appreciated! Please send your feedback and stay active!

Bug reporting
Yes, we have added a forum on https://sourceforge.net/p/projectlibre/discussion/buglist/ where you can add bugs. Please keep in mind this first release does not have an installer. We are adding that in the next two days. Look forward to your feedback!

Team is focused on correcting... any assistance is appreciated
hey there, we have a team looking at the issue and it is certainly the exception but we are seeing too many of these.... it will be corrected. Please send any offending projects to us so we can triage the bug.
Import XML Files
Hi, I'm completely new to the product but love what I see so far. Just had a question on whether there is a logfile of some sort that can help me diagnose issues I'm having with importing a Microsoft Project file in XML format that I created. It's probably something I did wrong in the file creation, but don't see any error so am not sure where to start.
Thanks!
XML import
Can you send us the XML file.... we have had a few people with issues and we want to triage the issue ASAP. You can send it to [email protected] We have a team looking at it now so very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Marc
